Responsible for the management of the plant utilities team. Responsibilities included the operation and maintenance of all equipment relating to steam, natural gas, electricity, compressed air, potable water, process waste water, sewage treatment system, starch recovery, wet and dry process waste, and farming operations. Implemented department performance tracking programs, automated employee time tracking, developed an energy management system, and trained unit for a continuous improvement method. As a project manager I've led multiple projects to include: a cogeneration CO2 fire protection system, boiler control system upgrade, on-site nitrogen generation, starch recovery system rebuild, computer system upgrades, high voltage equipment replacement, and a domestic water chlorine treatment system. As a member of the plant environmental team, I trained all new personnel on the corporate environmental plan and have completed environmental audits on other Frito-Lay facilities. Responsible for a team of 25 to ensure the business provides a safe working environment for all of the employees and proper protection of our environment. Operations included auto sortation, palletizing of 24,000 cases a shift, loading up to 40,000 cases a shift, empty case return sorting, night shift coverage of shipment to 30 distribution centers in the western U.S., production coordination to maintain a compliance rate of 99.7%, and occasional management coverage of the Fritos® manufacturing line. Reduced cost per case to ship 14.7% by developing tracking programs, which was later used in other plants.
